Bhavim Desai, M.D.

Dr. Desai is a board certified Family Medicine and Sleep Medicine Physician. He’s the owner of Sleep Medicine Consultants and Medical Director of The Sleep Center of Austin. He’s dedicated to offering comprehensive sleep care in order for Texans to find rest and health in their lives.
Dr. Desai completed his Family Medicine residency at St. Mary Mercy in Michigan, sleep medicine fellowship at University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. This is where he had the opportunity to work with one of the foremost experts in the field. During this time, he gained extensive experience in treating various sleep disorders beyond the more common ailments of sleep apnea and insomnia.
Currently affiliated with the St. David’s HealthCare, Ascension Seton Medical Center, and Austin Dell Medical School – UT Austin. He’s worked as an urgent care physician and traveled as a locum tenens doctor in Michigan, the US Virgin Islands, and Washington.
He has an undergraduate degree and medical degree from the University of South Carolina. Dr. Desai now calls Austin home and thoroughly enjoys the city’s vibrant music scene, outdoor activities, culinary delights and friendly residents.
Monique Mulvany, N.P.
Family Medicine, Sleep Medicine
Monique Sommer Mulvany is an accomplished Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in sleep disorders since 2006. With a wealth of knowledge and expertise, Monique is actively involved in current sleep-related research and provides exceptional patient care.
Originally from Brownwood, Texas, Monique received her B.S. in Nursing with honors from Spring Hill College. She began her career working in Orthopedic, Neuro, and Spinal Trauma at Brackenridge Hospital, where she formed lasting relationships with colleagues and friends who continue to collaborate with her to this day. In 2006, Monique graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, receiving her Master’s Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
As a passionate patient advocate, Monique is dedicated to helping her patients achieve a more fulfilling life through better sleep. When she is not providing compassionate care, Monique can be found tending to her beautiful East Austin garden, running along Lady Bird Lake, or attending the many art events.
Radhika Nayak, MSN, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner, Sleep Specialist
Radhika Nayak is a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner with a deep dedication to sleep medicine and providing compassionate care to her patients.
Originally hailing from Mumbai, India, Radhika completed her undergraduate nursing degree at the University of Texas at Austin. She worked as an emergency room nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s trauma center in Chicago and later at Seton Medical Center in Austin (now Ascension Seton). Driven by her passion for health and well-being, Radhika pursued a Masters degree at UT, ultimately becoming a Nurse Practitioner. Throughout her career, she has served in various healthcare settings, including Family Practice, Hospice and Palliative care before finding her calling in the field of sleep medicine.
Today, Radhika feels privileged to be able to pursue her passion for improving the lives of individuals within the Texas community by helping them achieve better sleep. When she is not actively treating and advocating for patients with sleep disorders, Radhika enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son.
Natalie Starkey, MSN, APRN, FNP
Family Nurse Practitioner, Sleep Specialist
Natalie Starkey brings over two decades of nursing experience, including more than eight years as a dedicated nurse practitioner. With a deep passion for sleep medicine, Natalie is dedicated to addressing sleep issues in pediatric, adolescent, and adult populations.
Her philosophy centers on delivering patient care that’s firmly rooted in evidence-based guidelines while infusing each interaction with compassion and empathy. Throughout her career, she has worked across diverse healthcare settings, encompassing primary care, urgent care, and emergency care, gaining a wealth of experience and expertise.
Natalie has a Bachelor of Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler, where she also teaches. A member of Sigma Theta Tau, the honor society of nursing, she expanded her expertise by pursuing post-master’s studies in nursing education.
When not busy with her family or the practice, Natalie enjoys DIY projects, reading, and occasionally indulging in a Netflix binge.
